This image is in the public domain because, under Nigerian and United Kingdom copyright law, originality of expression is required for copyright protection, and a photograph of an unprotected two-dimensional work may not be protected by American copyright law. The Gratispaideia Group's stated opinion is that all reproductions of public domain works, regardless of nation of origin, should be declared public domain (even in countries where mere labor is enough to make a reproduction eligible for protection).
